What’s more perfect for a summer card than a relaxing waterside scene? Here I have taken one of the cut apart scenes from the Waterside Retreat 12″ x 12″ designer series paper and used it as a backdrop for the fun bicycle element in the Lakeside Retreat Paper Pumpkin Kit. For this alternative, I chose a flip up center fun fold design to give the card dimension and a fun twist. Read on for the measurements and all the elements used to create this card.
Measurements
Card Base: Balmy Blue 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Matte Layer: Cajun Craze 5 1/4″ x 4″
Flip Up Center Flap: Cajun Craze 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ scored at 1/2″ on long side
Inside Matte: Balmy Blue 3 7/8″ x 3″
Insert: Basic White 3 10/16″ x 2 13/16″
Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper Scene Once cut from 12″ sheet, trim to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ – Next, cut 1″ in from left side and 1″ in from right side to get the 2 side panels.
Directions:
- Cut Designer Series Paper (DSP) as noted in measurements above.
- Adhere 1″ strip to left and right of Matte Layer of Cajun Craze as pictured.
- Use bone folder to burnish the 1/2″ inch score line, then apply liquid glue to 1/2″ strip in order to adhere it to the center back of the Cajun Craze Matte.
- Adhere Cajun Matte with flip flap to Balmy Blue Card Base. This hides the place where you adhered the 1/2″ strip to the back of the matte.
- If desired, stamp cattails and seagulls as pictured on the remaining center section of the DSP.
- Adhere the center of the DSP scene to the front flap as shown.
- Pop up focal point and greeting on Stampin’ Dimensionals, then add to front. I used the bike from the Paper Pumpkin kit, but other ephemera or die cut appropriate to the scene can easily be substituted. The Adirondack chair from the Relaxing Waterside bundle would be a great option.
- Optional: Add Pebbles Enamel Shapes from Paper Pumpkin Kit or if you have in your stash (158141-retired from Otter Suite)
- Adhere Balmy Blue insert under center flap.
- Stamp grass or cattail image on Basic White insert before adhering on top of Balmy Blue Matte.
